Your best teacher is your last mistake

Forgiveness-Quotes-67

Picture yourself tripping up in work, life, or love. You’ve made a mistake, said the wrong thing, or didn’t come through with your end of the bargain.

You think: How did I let that happen?  What a (fill in the blank) I am. I can’t believe I did that, AGAIN. If only I could rewind.

These aren’t the greatest feelings—it’s true. However, we live our lives in irony. Though we dislike how we feel having just tripped-up, we continue to beat ourselves up way after the fact.

We cause our own suffering. Furthermore, we seem to forget that when we make mistakes, we grow. An atmosphere of growth is integral to happiness. So create happiness by seeing mistakes as true growth opportunities.

If we allow them, our mistakes can fuel our awareness. In helping us decide how to act and react in a fresh and fruitful way, they can bring us closer to happiness and further away from (causing our own) suffering.

We are very much our past in the most rich and helpful way. We can use past mistakes to yield a shiny new perspective and, in turn, create a new outcome.

Never stop learning and speak up!

What is Life Long Learning?  Simply, I believe it is the consistent and deep engagement of the mind and body in the active pursuit of knowledge and experience from birth to death. Learning is important because it helps us make informed choices about our own lives and the societies that we live in. It also enables us observe the results and include the feedback into new initiatives. Youth of a Nation has posted topics on Chronic pain, several mental health issues, children’s disabilities, and parenting. As I have said from the beginning, I want this to be an open blog which means your input is more than welcome. I want to learn from you as well.  Youth of a Nation would like some feedback from the community to get an idea about the sort of things you would like to read in our blog posts. My question to you is: are there any topics in particular you would like to see posted in the blog? Are there other categories of articles (besides the ones mentioned above) which we need to focus on more? Maybe you would like to be a guest blogger and write something you would like to contribute. If you are interested in giving a little of your knowledge or just want to share a picture, poem, quote etc…please email me. I would like to thank my followers for supporting me. You all have amazing blogs yourself. I learn from you each and everyday.

Hey Guys! I want to know what you would like to see on my blog more. I want your opinion, inspiration, knowledge etc… That’s how we learn, from each other. Please feel free to share some topics you would like to see on Youth of a Nation or even decide to be a guest blogger. I would love your input!

“When your views on the world and your intellect are being challenged and you begin to feel uncomfortable because of a contradiction you’ve detected that is threatening your current model of the world…pay attention. You are about to learn something.”

Just be you!

One of the amazing things about life is that every day we get a fresh start. Every day we get the opportunity to learn a new lesson, grow a little more, deepen our connection to life, to each other and to our own spirit.

Sometimes, the desire to expand can cause us to forget that which we already are. While it is important to continue evolving, learning and growing, being too focused on this can get in the way of our ability to be in the present and enjoy what we have.

By fully accepting who you are in this moment, you create the space and freedom for yourself to JUST BE YOU.

Connecting is key

Connect, because we are stronger when we pull together.

Loneliness and social isolation have many negative physical and mental health effects. Our lack of regular meaningful connection has implications for our mental health and wellbeing, but the solutions are within our reach. Many people feel that they are too busy to add yet more to their calendars, but wellbeing can be significantly boosted simply by doing little things such as making one personal phone call a day, reading a child a story, or walking the dog with friends.

Connect is one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing along with Give, Be Active, Keep Learning and Take Notice.
